Day 147: Brainstorming and Breakage!

We got up and went to church. It's always good to be in the House of the Lord on Sunday morning!

We also went grocery shopping because church (Panzer) is near the Commissary on Patch. When we got home and toted all that "stuff" up the steps, I decided we needed another mechanism to bypass the stairs in order to get groceries up to our apartment. We decided that a basket and rope would work well and we can hoist our purchases up to the living room balcony! It will be easier on both of our knees, that's for sure!

Ted has been complaining about how the shower isn't draining fast enough. Even though I put two teapots full of boiling water down the drain, it still isn't fast enough for him.

He took it upon himself to "fix" it. Yeah, well...he fixed it alright...he broke the drain! later he said he thought it was going to be like the U. S. drains where you just pull it out and then put it back in. Not so, in this case. Even the PVC pipe is discoonected. So this truly IS the land of not quite right!

This means we will have to use the tub with the handheld showerhead to bathe until it gets fixed. I told my husband, in no uncertain terms, that he is NOT to try to fix ANYTHING in this apartment. We'll let the professionals do it because we'll end up spending more money if we break something than if we have them come in and take care of it BEFORE we break it!

He sheepishly agreed.

I really didn't feel like doing laundry tonight so we shelved it for another night, probably Tuesday.
