The trip to Germany has begun. We left from California on a red-eye flight to Pittsburgh, Wednesday March 11, 2009 to visit family in the Ohio area before leaving for Germany. We arrived exhausted from a whirlwind of weeks' preparations for the move.
It is a bit surreal because we will not be returning to California, our home for so many years. While we were driving to the San Francisco airport we realized that everything we owned that we had access to was in the eight bags going on the plane with us! It's amazing what you can stuff into suitcases.
