It begins.

This blog is about Our Life in Germany. It will serve as a way for friends and family to keep track where we are and what we are doing; photos and details of places we will be visiting as well as what our life is like living outside of the United States. It all starts here in Northern California.

My husband finally received his start date. The start date is March 16th in Virginia and then on to Stuttgart, Germany on the 22nd or 23rd. Before we leave I will be visiting my family members in Florida, New York and Ohio. I will be tired before I even get there! I am getting excited about the prospect of living in Europe and spending time traveling.

We are currently and busily making preparations for the move. The list goes on and on from procuring an international mover for household goods, to getting medical and dental records to putting personal items into permanent storage to selling our cars. My head is spinning with how much has to be done in a very short period of time!

I am still working but am in the process of winding down what needs to be done while I am still physically there. However, I am extraordinarily thankful and grateful for the opportunity to work for my current boss long distance! How cool is that?

Thankfully, we are getting the Rosetta Stone course in German so we both will be able to start learning the language now while we are doing the move preparations.

Today is a day filled with sorting possessions and determining what needs to be permanently stored, what is given to Goodwill, what will be shipped to Germany and what will be pitched. It's amazing how much you don't need when you have to ship it or store it!
